Brayson Laube’s game continues to grow

Brayson Laube is a 2023 point guard that has made some serious strides since we saw him last this summer. Laube has always been talented — we thought highly enough of him to invite him to our Larry Hughes Elite Camp — but early on in his junior year, he is showing he is a legit college-level prospect.

Laube’s three-point shooting is probably the defining trait that got high D2s up to Mid-Major D1s actively recruiting him. It’s hard not to notice when he’s hitting 3’s from all over the court. Shooting is at a premium right now and Laube has tons of it. He’s currently shooting 50% from the field and 47% from behind the arc, while also averaging nearly 19ppg for his Marion High School squad in Iowa.
All of his stats are an uptick from his previous season which points to his growth. However, it is his athleticism, maturity, and the way he can control the game that is eye-opening. Laube’s athleticism is making his entire game better — he is quicker off the bounce, he is finishing plays with dunks, he has a bit more range on his jumper and is overall more active on the defensive end. He’s the confidence guard that coaches dream of. He’s vocal on the floor, he’s poised with the ball in his hands, and he knows how to make big plays down the stretch in close games.

Keep an eye on Laube the rest of the year and mark him as a stock riser for next AAU season.
